Despite this, I keep getting messages from MOC members that they would like more examples of various reactions, as well as more examples of synthesis and spectroscopy problems.

I’m looking for a few exceptional individuals who *love* putting together questions and practice problems for introductory undergraduate organic chemistry and can help make this resource even better.

Here’s a few things that should describe you:

  • You’ve taken at least two semesters of undergraduate organic chemistry, ideally at a North American school.
  • You have tutored or TA’d undergraduate organic chemistry and are familiar with explaining the course material to beginners, to the extent that you can put yourself in the shoes of a beginner and anticipate what organic chemistry concepts they will and will not need to excel in their course.
  • Learning organic chemistry is fun for you.
  • You are experienced at using ChemDraw.

Some things to know:

  • This is a part-time, paid position. You should be available to work at least 10 hours per week.
  • Work is 100% remote, with regularly scheduled check-ins.
  • You will be asked to sign a one-page Operating Agreement (mostly copyright-related stuff).

If this describes you, please respond to james@masterorganicchemistry.com with

  1. Email subject: Open Position at MOC
  2. A brief, one-paragraph introduction of yourself and why you would be a good fit for this position.
  3. An attached sample of some study materials / “cheat sheets” / practice problems you have made previously, ideally for organic chemistry.

Additionally, if you know anyone who might be a good fit for this position, please forward this notice to them. Thanks!

I look forward to hearing from you!

James from MOC
